FESTIVAL REEL [1]. Canadian, Reel. D Dorian. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. Composed by the late Newfoundland fiddler Emile Benoit (1913-1992), an influential musician on the island. Benoit was born and raised in Black Duck Brook, on the Port-au-Port peninsula of Newfoundland, and was a self-described jack-of-all-trades. He played for many of Canada's major festivals, and toured with Newfoundland group Figgy Duff.
