Back to Dr. Shaw
DOCTOR SHAW. AKA - "Dr. Shaw." Scottish, Strathspey. D Mixolydian. Standard tuning (fiddle). AAB. Composed by the great Scottish fiddler and composer James Scott Skinner (1843-1927), dated the 3rd July, 1902, on Skinner's hand-written manuscipt [1]. The tune was popularized among Cape Breton Island fiddlers by Bill Lamey who recorded it on a 78 RPM recording.
