DUCK'S EYEBALL [2]. AKA and see "Rainbow Schottische," "Right Foot, Left Foot," "Stephen Baldwin's Schottische," "Tom Bhetty's Hornpipe," "Winter('s) Night Schottische." Old-Time, Breakdown. G Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AA'BB'. This eastern Carolina flatlands regional tune bears no relation to the Luther Davis melody of the same name. Lauchlin Shaw (1912-2000), Harnett County, N.C., learned the tune from Virgil Craven, a fiddler and hammered dulcimer player from Randolph County, N.C. The tune originally was called "Rainbow Schottische" (see note for that tune).

Source for notated version: Lauchlin Shaw (N.C.) [Milliner & Koken].

Printed sources: Devil's Box, vol. 24, No. 1, 1990; p. 37. Milliner & Koken (Milliner-Koken Collection of American Fiddle Tunes), 2011; p. 175.

Recorded sources: Marimac 9064D, Lauchlin Stamper & A.C. Overton - "Sally with the Run Down Shoes" (1996).
