Composed by North Dakota fiddler Elva "Elvy" Osborne (1882-1959), who was born in Illinois. Osborne became a barber in Minot, N.D., after homesteading failed.
A good self-taught musician, he fiddled on the side and ran jam sessions in his shop. Pancerzewski (1988) notes that Osborne marked this tune "Minot, North Dakota, 1932."
