'''AA THE SHIPS ARE SAILING'''.
<br>
According to Shetland fiddler, teacher and composer Tom Anderson, the reel was composed at the beginning of the 20th century, and depicts the herring fleet sailing out to the fishing grounds. It was collected in the Shetland village of Nesting. It also appears in print in Anderson's book The Ringing Strings (1983, p. 84) and was recorded by himself and Boys of the Lough fiddler Aly Bain (a Shetland native and friend of Anderson's) on Topic 12TS379, "Shetland Folk Fiddling, vol. 2" (1978).
