Back to Essence of Cinnamon Seed


ESSENCE OF CINNAMON SEED. American, ("Slow") Dance Tune. D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AA'B. There are several "Essence..." tunes printed in William Bradbury Ryan's Mammoth Collection (1883). The word 'essence' being used as a cognate term for 'humors' or 'fancy', referring to a piece of music. See note for "Essence of Old Virginny" for information on the "Essence..." type of tune.
