Back to Fair Love of My Heart
FAIR LOVE OF MY HEART ("Gradh Geal Mochroidhe" or "Grá Geal Mo Chroí"). AKA and see "Bright Love of My Heart (1)." Irish, Air (4/4 time). C Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AB. "Stanford-Petrie has three air of this name, and all different from the one given here" (Joyce). Phonetically the title reads: 'Gra gal machree'. The title appears in a list of tunes in his repertoire brought by Philip Goodman, the last professional and traditional piper in Farney, Louth, to the Feis Ceoil in Belfast in 1898 (Breathnach, 1997).
