Scottish, Reel. A Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AB. The tune appears to have a Scottish provenance (as "Perthshire Hunt"), but also a rich Irish tradition. There is no serious attempt to tie the tune to Niel Gow, save the iconic title in Ryan's Mammoth Collection (1883).
