The march was picked up by Scottish dance bands and popularized with fiddlers in Britain. Willie Hunter (1933–1994) was a Shetland fiddler and composer whose most famous compositions were the slow air "Leaving Lerwick Harbour," the reel "Cape Breton Visit to Shetland (The)," and the strathspey "Willie Hunter's Compliments to Dan R. MacDonald."
