REEL DU SEMEUR (Sower's Reel). French-Canadian, Reel or Polka (4/4 or 2/4 time). D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. "Reel du semeur" (Sower's Reel) was recorded by Montreal fiddler Joseph Allard (1873-1947) in 1929 for Victor records and was re-released on Victor's Bluebird label (B-4911-A) in 1936, where he is credited under a pseudonym, 'Maxime Touin'. Pascal Gemme of the group Genticorum says this tune is a popular accordion melody.
