The melody has a few Gaelic titles: "Comunn an t-Strath Mhòir" (The Strathmore Society), "Dean cadal 's fan sàmhach a Chuillean a Rùin (Sleep and be quiet my Darling, my Love), and "An Gille dubh sùgach" (The Merry Dark-haired Boy).
