X:1 T:Lillie, The M:C L:1/8 R:Reel S:The Buttery Manuscript (c. 1784-1820, No. 479) N:Original difficult to read, and Buttery seems to have inserted alternate N:melody in many measures. Not reliable transcription. N:John Buttery (1784-1854) joined the 34th Regiment in Lincoln, N:Lincolnshire, England, in 1797 and served as a fifer until discharged in N:1814. His large ms. contains marches, duty calls, dance tunes and airs. N:EASMES identifies this as the Fife MS. and suggests a date of 1780, see N: https://www.cdss.org/elibrary/Easmes/Index.htm Z:AK/Fiddler’s Companion K:D dcdA B2 AG|F{A}E{F}D2 E/E/E E2|dcdA B2 AG|FCEF D/D/D D2:| |:FDAD F2 FA|FDAF E/E/E E2|FDFD F2 AF|EDEF D/D/D D2:| |:dcdA TB2 de|gfed e/e/e ea|gfed BAF2|EDEF D/D/D D2:|]
