ROSSIE HOUSE. Scottish, Double Jig (6/8 time). G Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. "Rossie House" first appears in Aberdeenshire fiddler-composer Archibald Duff's collection of 1794. The title probably refers to Rossie House in Perthsire rather than the one in Fife. The melody was also entered into the 1840 music manuscript collection (p. 247) of multi-instrumentalist John Rook of Waverton, near Wigton, Cumbria.
