FAVORITE STRATHSPEY, A. Scottish, Strathspey. D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AAB. The strathspey was published in Glasgow by James Aird in the second volume of his Selection of Scotch, English, Irish and Foreign Airs (1785). It was later published as a country dance by London music publisher Thomas Preston under the title "Over the Muir Sherran."
