HASTTON'S HORNPIPE. English, Hornpipe. D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. The melody appears under this title in the music manuscript copybook of fiddler John Burks, dated 1821. Unfortunately, nothing is known of Burks, but he may have been from the north of England. The melody is an early version of "Morning Fair," "Texarkana Hornpipe," printed in Ryan's Mammoth Collection (1883) and of "Tomorrow Morning," printed in O'Neill's Music of Ireland (1903).
