LASS OF INVERNESS. AKA - "Lovely Lass of Inverness (The)." Scottish, Air. The tune was first published in James Oswald's (1711-1769) Caledonian Pocket Companion (1743), and is attributed to him by Stenhouse. Robert Burns used it for his Jacobite song "Lovely Lass of Inverness", from Johnson's Scots Musical Museum (1796, No. 401).
