MEMORY OF JOYS THAT ARE PAST, THE. Scottish, Strathspey. B Flat Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AAB. Composed by John MacDonald, a Dundee dancing master. The strathspey was first published in Charles Duff's collection in 1790, and again in Nathaniel Gow's Sixth Collection (Edinburgh, 1822). MacDonald is also represented in the Gow collections by his tunes "Contrivance (The)" and "Maids of Arrochar."
