ALBERT DOWNEY TWO-STEP. American, Two-Step (cut time). C Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AB. This two-step, a vehicle for a couple dance, was in the repertoire of Orange County, southern Indiana, fiddler Lotus Dickey (1911-1989), learned from a local fiddler, Albert Downey. The piece sounds as if it may have derived from a gallop.
