ANYTHING FOR JOHN JOE. AKA and see "Crane Crook (The)," "Anything When You Die." Irish, Reel. D Mixolydian (Breathnach, Moylan): D Major (Cranitch, Tubridy). Standard tuning (fiddle). AB (Cranitch, Tubridy): AAB (Mallinson): AA'B (Breathnach, Moylan). A reel from the Sliabh Luachra region of the Cork-Kerry border, associated with the playing of fiddlers Dennis Murphy and Julia Clifford. The first strain (but not the second) is shared with "Lisheen Reel (1)," and, rhythmically altered, "Sharon Shannon's Slide."
