ARIZONA STOMP. American, Two-Step (cut time). C Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). One part. The tune was composed by fiddler Daniel Huggins Williams of the East Texas Serenaders. The name Arizona had humble origins, and was first used by Spanish explorers referring to ‘the little spring’. It was used by a mining company which brought it to public notice and it soon came to represent an entire territory of the American southwest (Matthews, 1972).
