BIG FOUR. Old-Time, Two-Step (cut time). USA, Ala. F Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). Composed and recorded in New Orleans, La., for Decca Records in March, 1936, by fiddler Charlie Stripling (1896-1966, Larkin County, Ala.), who named after a local fishing hole. Perhaps he took his inspiration for the melody from a college football march.
