BOYS FROM THE WEST, THE. AKA and see "Hexham Races," "Jude's Farewell," "Kenmore Lads," "I Will if I Can (1)," "Kenmure's Up and Awa', "Sandy's Bonnet." Irish, Double Jig. G Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. Bayard's (1981) opinion is that this as one of the tunes descended from "Kenmuir's Up and Awa," a Borders song that appeared around 1792 and which gave the tune its name. See also Bayard's note for "annotation:Four Hundred Years Old." The Kilfenora Céilí Band recorded the melody as "Jude's Farewell." The tune is used for the third figure of the "Caledonian Quadrille."
