BRIDGE OF BANFF, THE. Scottish, Reel. A Minor. Standard tuning (fiddle). AAB. Composed by Aberdeenshire fiddler-composer biography:Alexander Walker, born in Rhynie, Strathbogie, in 1819, who died around the begginning of the 20th century in Northampton, Massachusetts, where he had emigrated at the age of 50 and established a prosperous farm. In Scotland he was the gardener of Sir Charles Forbes of Castle Newe, who also became his patron.

The Bridge of Banff is a seven span bridge that was built in 1779 and crosses the river Deveron, Deveron Valley, Aberdeenshire.
