CAMBRO-BRITON, THE. Welsh, Country Dance Tune (2/4 time). G Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. A "Cambro-Briton" is a Welshman. This melody is from Skillern's Country Dances for 1799 and has some similarity to "Stumpie," and "Duchess of Hamilton's Strathspey (The)." See Bayard's (1981) note for "Hazel Dean (1)" for more on this tune family.
