CATHAL MHAC AODH (Charles Magee). AKA and see "Charles Machugh." Irish, Air (3/4 time). A Minor. Standard tuning (fiddle). One part. Cathal Magee was a famous highwayman in Ulster, elucidates O'Sullivan (1983). The tune does not appear to be the same as that of "Charles Machugh" (Catal Mac Aodh)--the wild boy--printed in O'Neill's Music of Ireland: 1850 Melodies, although Bunting gives that name as an alternate title.

Additional notes

Source for notated version: - the Irish collector Edward Bunting noted the tune from the harper Charles Byrne in 1792.
