MISS MATILDA LOCKHART'S. AKA and see "Scotch Rovers (The)." Scottish, Reel. D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AA'B. The tune appears to be unique to Glasgow publisher James Aird's Selection' of Scotch, English, Irish and Foreign Airs, vol. 4 (1796). A cognate melody was entered into the mid-19th century music manuscript of M.E. Eames (perhaps of Philadelphia, Pa.) as "Scotch Rovers (The)." See also "[[]]" for similar first strain melodica material.
