In Charles Middleton’s "Selection of Strathspeys & Reels, etc., arranged Expressly . . . by Peter Milne, Violinist late of Aberdeen . . .": the reel was composed by biography:Peter Milne (1824-1908), the "Tarland Minstrel," a mentor and sometime playing partner of biography:J. Scott Skinner’s (1843-1927).
