ROSE GARDEN, THE. AKA and see "Paddy Cronin's Reel (2)." Irish, Reel (whole time). E Minor/Dorian. Standard tuning (fiddle). AA’B. The first strain of "Pride of Rathmore (The)" is similar (but not identical) with the first part of "The Rose Garden" and may be a cognate strain. The tune was recorded as "Paddy Cronin's Reel (2)" by the group Monks of the Screw in 1995. The melodic contour of the first two measures is similar to those of the reel "Rose in the Garden (The)," except a step apart.
