SEÁN RYAN'S FANCY HORNPIPE. AKA and see "Swan (The)." Irish, Hornpipe. G Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. The tune is sometimes played in the key of A Major. It was composed by Seán Ryan (d. 1985), who originally entitled it "Swan (The)." It is called by the name of the great County Tipperary fiddler in deference to him. Similarly, it was called "Paddy Kelly's on Co. Clare accordion player Bobby Gardiner's 1962 recording, "Memories of Clare." The group Buttons and Bows called it "Dancing Master (2) (The)" on their 1991 recording "Grace Notes/Nótaí Maise."
