SHAKING DOWN THE ACORNS [1]. AKA and see "Rattlin' Down the Acorns (1)," "Flattening the Acres." American, Reel (cut time). D Mixolydian. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. The low strain (coarse part) starts on a ‘C’ chord. Mike Seegar was supposed to have learned this from Wilson Douglas, writes Kerry Blech, but when Blech asked Douglas about it Wilson did not recognize the tune. Nevertheless, Seegar has a tape of Douglas playing the tune.
