ALLONBY LASSES. English, Reel (cut time). G Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AAB. The tune was entered into the c. 1825 music manuscript collection of the Browne family, Lake District, Cumbria. The second strain is cognate with the second strain of Canon James Goodman's "Touch Her if You Dare." Fr. John Quinn also finds a cognate in "Drunken Reel (2) (The)" from the 1883 music manuscript collection of Stephen Grier, of Gortletteragh, Co. Leitrim.
