KINCALDRUM('S). AKA - "Kurcaldrum's Reel." AKA and see "Devil in a Bush (The)," "Maid of Argyle's (The)," "Muldoon's Favorite," "Parson in the Suds (2)." Scottish; Reel. G Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AB (Surenne): AAB (Athole, Gow): AABB (Petrie): AABB' (Skye). The alternate title, "Devil in a Bush (The)," seems idiosyncratic to Northumbrian musician William Vickers, who included it in his 1770-1772 music manuscript. It was also included by Waverton, Wigton, Cumbria, multi-instrumentalist John Rook (as "Kincaldrum's Reel") in his large 1840 music manuscript (p. 189). American versions of the reel can be found in Boston-based Elias Howe publications as "Maid of Argyle's (The)" and "Muldoon's Favorite." See also the related "England's Glory."
