French-Canadian, The tune was recorded in Montréal in Sepetember, 1926, by Montreal fiddler Isidore Soucy [1] (1899-1962). Decades later Soucy recorded another version of the tune with his family band under the title "Reel Notre-Dame," and also reworded it as "Reel du moineau" in 1932.
