QUADRILLE DE QUÉBEC (2ème partie). AKA and see Reel du moineau," "Reel Notre-Dame." French-Canadian, Quadrille (2/2 time). D Major ('A' part) & G Major ('B' part). Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. "Quadrille de Québec 2ème partie" was recorded in Montréal in Sepetember, 1926, by Montreal fiddler Isidore Soucy [1] (1899-1962). Decades later Soucy recorded another version of the tune with his family band under the title "Reel Notre-Dame," and also reworked the melody as "Reel du moineau" in 1932.
The second strain of "Quadrille de Quebec 2e partie" is also found as the first strain of J.A. Boucher's "Reel des Boulangers," notes Jean Duval.
