PHILIP GOODMAN (d. c.1910) was one of the last known traveling pipers from Farney in County Monaghan, who lived near Donaghmoyne. Goodman estimated he had a repertoire of 500 songs, and remembered the titles of 307, with reels making up about a third of the total.
