BATH HORNPIPE. English, Hornpipe. G Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. The tune appears as an untitled hornpipe in Helperby, Yorkshire, fiddler Lawrence Leadley's (1827-1897) music manuscript copybook, compiled primarily in the 1840's and 1850's. It also appears in the G. Huddeswell manuscript, Leeds, Yorkshire. There was a "New Bath Hornpipe" in William Vickers 1780 Northumbrian manuscript, and, while some tunes with the appellation "New..." are sometimes written in response (or to ride the coattails of) a popular tune, Leadley's "Bath Hornpipe" does not sound like it predated the 19th century.

Printed sources: Callaghan (Hardcore English), 2007; pg. 14. Merryweather & Seattle (The Fiddler of Helperby), 1994; No. 3, pg. 28 (appears as Untitled Hornpipe I).
