CACKLING HEN [3]. AKA and see "Hen's March to the Midden (The)." Scottish, March (cut time). D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. The tune appears under this title in the William Mackie music manuscript collection. Mackie was a piper from Aberdeenshire, whose manuscript includes settings of tunes for the Highland pipes, Scottish small-pipes, and flute/violin.
