Back to Caledonian's Rant


CALEDONIAN'S RANT. English, Reel. F Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. The melody appears (as "The Calledonans Rant") in the 1770 music manuscript collection of Northumbrian musician William Vickers, about whom unfortunately nothing is known. The melody is different than similarly titled "Calendonian Rants" or "Caledonian Reels" of the period.
