Back to Cambo March (The)
CAMBO MARCH, THE. English, March. England, Northumberland. G Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABBCCDDEEFF. Composed by musician, teacher, composer, dancing master and fiddler Robert Whinham (1814-1893), originally from Morpeth. Dixon (1995) explains that Cambo is an estate village associated with nearby Wallington Hall, on of the 'Great Houses' of Northumberland.
Source for notated version: the S.P. Liddell manuscript, dated 1879, along with a reconstruction of piper Billy Pigg's version by Colin Ross [Dixon].
