Back to Castleblaney Piper (The)


CASTLEBLANEY PIPER, THE. Irish, Double Jig. D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB'. Composed by County Cavan/Philadelphia fiddler Ed Reavy (1898-1988). Castleblaney is in County Monaghan, where Reavy's mother once resided with her family. The young Reavy would visit relatives in the area and remembered the region for its great pipers.
