Back to Denis Doody's (1)


DENIS DOODY'S [1]. Irish, Polka. D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AAB (Taylor): AABB' (Mallinson). Button accordion player Denis Doody (d. 2007) was born in Ballinahulla near Ballydesmond, and was the grandson of fiddler Din Tarrant, a contemporary of renowned Sliabh Luachra fiddler and teacher Pádraig O'Keeffe. Doody lived for some years in London, but returned to Ireland in 1964, where he came under the influence of Kerry musicians Johnny O'Leary and Denis Murphy.
