Back to Donald Ian Rankine


DONALD IAN RANKINE. Scottish, Jig. F Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). ABCD. Fairly recently composed by a Scottish dance-band leader, accordion player and composer who lived and worked in Liverpool, Andrew Rankine (1930-1985). Rankine's band was a very popular Scottish dance band almost from its inception in the village of Menstrie, Clackmannanshire in 1949, and continued in the forefront of Scottish dance music for three decades.
