Back to Down in the Lowlands
DOWN IN THE LOWLANDS. Irish, Air (3/4 time). F Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). One part. "Mr. MacKenzie says:--'This is as I always heard it sung by Irish girls. The other setting I sent you was the Scotch style of singing it.'" (Joyce).
Source for notated version: "Mr. J. McKenzie of Newtownards, a great lover of Irish Music and of the corresponding folk songs, sent me the (air) about 30 years ago" (i.e. 1875).
