Back to Dr. Manson of Spynie
DOCTOR MANSON OF SPYNIE. Scottish, Strathspey. D Minor. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB'. Dr. Manson was (amongst probably other things) an agriculturalist and estate owner in Morayshire. He won 2nd prize in 1843 for experiments on which soils and nutrient combinations grew the best turnips (his recommendation: guano, bones and sulphuric acid). He died sometime before 1860.
