Back to Eagle's Whistle (4) (The)

EAGLE'S WHISTLE [4], THE (Fead An Iolair). Irish, Air (4/4 time). Ireland, Munster. D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). ABC. "Since printing 'Eagle's Whistle (1) (The) at page 166 I have come across another version in a small Munster MS. book belonging to the Forde Collection: but there is no statement as to the source from which it was procured. It is strikingly different from the former setting, so much so that some might consider it a different melody" (Joyce). Indeed, the relationship to the above versions is quite distant, albeit recognizable.
