Back to Factory Smoke
FACTORY SMOKE HORNPIPE. AKA and see "Tide Come In (2)]," "When the Tide Comes In." Scottish, Hornpipe. G Minor (Gatherer, Honeyman, McGuire & Keegan): G Dorian (Perlman): A Minor (). Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. Martin Hayes recorded the tune as "Brown Coffin (The)" and Donegal fiddler Danny O'Donnell called it "The Tide Came In." Cape Breton fiddlers play a 'double-tonic' (modal) version of the tune that starts out in major tonality.
