Back to Greene County Waltz (The)


GREEN COUNTY WALTZ, THE. American, Waltz. USA, southwestern Pa. C Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AA'B. Bayard's source said: "Made by Bill Lott's dad at Rices Landing (Pa.)."

Source for notated version: miner Marion Yoders (Greene County, Pa., 1961) [Bayard]. Yoders was a middle aged fiddler and fifer who sometimes played for dances in his local area. His father and grandfather were both fifers and he learned some of his repertoire from them and other local players.
