"Slash Away the Pressing Gang," "Yankee Doodle Dandy." Scottish, English; Reel. D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. The melody under this title is contained in the 1840 music manuscript collection of Cumbrian musician John Rook, although it seems to be an idiosyncratic titling of "All the Way to Galway." See also the Scots relatives "Ciorsdan Mhor", "Big Kirsty", "Miss Stewart Bun Rannoch" and "A' the Way to Galloway," and the related Irish polka "Kerry Cow (The)."
