I LIKE THE FOX SHALL GRIEVE. AKA and see "Lass of Patie's Mill (The)," "Peggy's Mill." The air appears under this title in John Gay's Beggar's Opera (1729). Kidson (1922) says the song is by Allen Ramsay, and the air appears in Orpheus Caledonius (1725-6).
