CORNISH FOUR-HAND REEL. English, Reel. England, Cornwall. D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABBCCDDAA. Source William Hocken was recorded by Richard Dimbleby at the Wellington Hotel in Bocastle in 1943. Hocken was a local bandmaster. The 64-bar melody is strongly associated with the dance the Bocastle Breakdowns, but can be played for the four-hand reel. (There is also a "Cornish Six-Hand Reel" of 32 bars, AKA "Johnny Mickey Batty's" in Ireland).
